- Rough dimensions — width, length and ceiling height. Paces are fine to start with.
- Two photographs taken from opposite corners, so we can see the whole room.
- Which way the door swings, and where the window and the radiator are.
- Whether any walls might move, and whether you have ever thought about extending.
- What you want to change, in plain words. "There is nowhere to put anything and two of us cannot cook in here" is a perfectly good brief.
None of it is compulsory, and the first consultation is free either way. It just means the conversation can be about your kitchen rather than about measurements.
