A designed kitchen is not a trade you call out — it is a project somebody has to run, and run in person. That puts a natural limit on how far we sensibly travel, and this is it: Redbourn, Harpenden and St Albans first, the west Hertfordshire villages around them, and a wider circle for the larger building work. If you are just past the edge of the list, ring and ask.

The home patch

Redbourn is the trading address and Harpenden and St Albans are both about ten minutes away, so a site visit here is a errand rather than an expedition. The housing runs from Victorian and Edwardian terraces with narrow back additions, through 1930s semis with the kitchen in the wrong half of the house, to newer estate housing with generous rooms and no storage. Three very different design problems, all of them common.

West Herts villages

Wheathampstead, Markyate, Flamstead, Kinsbourne Green, Childwickbury and the lanes between them. Older cottages with low ceilings and uneven walls, where nothing is square and a made-to-measure cabinet is not a luxury but the only thing that will actually fit — which is exactly the work bespoke cabinetry exists for.

Further out

Hemel Hempstead, Luton, Dunstable, Welwyn Garden City and Radlett. This is where the larger building work goes — extensions, conservatories, utility rooms and garages — and where a job is usually more than one room. Worth a phone call before you assume we are too far away.
